Getting started with MIMB Desktop

Converting a model from one tool to another is very simple. In the main window first select the model tool you want to import from. Then select the file containing the model in the tool's export format and click on import. The bridge will report on its progress during the import operation and inform you of any problem in the source model. The import operation is fast, typically less than a minute.

Once the model is in memory you can browse it by clicking on the "Model Viewer" button, or you can export it right away.

To export the model first select the destination tool, the destination file and then click on the "Export" button. The export operation is typically as fast or faster than the import operation.

Of course MIMB supports more sophisticated operations. These are the subject of the following chapters. For instance, you perform a consistency check, search for specific model elements based on various criteria, perform various subsetting operations before exporting the model so that you only keep the contents of one package, view or even a set of classes.
