MIMB Desktop Preferences

The Preferences dialog box allows you to customize the MIMB defaults. You can access it via the Bridge menu.

Import Preferences

Default Import Tool
This tool is selected when MIMB is started or this option is changed.
Default Validation Level
This level is selected when MIMB is started or this option is changed.
Default Import Path
This path is used by default in the navigate File Dialog when searching for an Import file/directory.
Clear Log before import
If set, the log display window is cleared before each import operation.
Advanced Options...
Clicking on this button will open a new Dialog Box that let you specify some post-processing operations you can apply to the imported model.
This dialog box is described in the Import Advanced Options section.

Note that the Import Tool and Validation Level changes will not be applied immediately to the main window if an import operation is in progress or if a model is already imported.

Export Preferences

Default Export Tool
This tool is selected when MIMB is started or this option is changed.
Default Subset Level
This level is selected when MIMB is started or this option is changed.
Default Export Path
This directory path is used by default in the File Dialog Box when searching for an Export file/directory.
Clear Log before export
If set, the log display window is cleared before each export operation.
Use default path for proposed export directory
The default export pathname is built by appending the name of the import file/directory to the Default Export Path.

Note that the Export Tool and Subset Level changes will not be applied immediately to the main window if an export operation is in progress.

General Preferences

Display message after successful import/export
If set, a message dialog box is displayed when the import operation or the exprot operation ends successfully.
Display license key message boxt
If set, a message dialog box is displayed when the tool start, if the license key is a trial version license key or if the license keys expires in less than 30 days. If you turn this option off, the message is displayed in the log window instead.
Propose to save Log before exit
If set, a dialog box is displayed when exiting MIMB: it asks if you want to save the contents of the log window into a file.
Sort Source Model
If set, the Elements displayed in the Model View dialog box are sorted alphabetically. This is the default but you can unset this option if your computer is slow.
Display warning message box on model delete
If set, a confirmation dialog box is displayed before to delete the current imported model. This dialog box is displayed when you select a new import tool or a new import path.
Default Model Viewer size
Specifies the size of the Model Viewer window.
Default Log File
This is the pathname of the file in which you want to save the contents of the Log window.

Import Advanced Options

This dialog box allows you to define some post-process (Algorithm) to apply to the imported model. The algorithms defined here have been developed to meet the requirements of some of our customers, but you can use them on your own models. You can contact our support if you would like you own customizations to be added here.

Apply Algorithm
This drop-down list allows you to select and activate an MIMB algorithm that will be applied on the imported model before the consistency check is performed.
Abbreviation File
Some MIMB algorithms can use a list of definitions (comma separated values file) to update the imported model.
This field allows you to select this file for the algorithm to use.
The lines of the file should comply to the following format:{Expanded Name},{Abbreviation}
Such an abbreviation dictionary file can be used to expand acronyms used in the imported model.
Algorithm Description
The description of the currently selected algorithm.
Algorithm Scope
This set of check boxes specifies the types of objects that will be updated by the currently selected algorithm. Note that some algorithms allow you to change the scope by individually checking each check box.
