Meta Integration® Metadata Management (MIMM)
Overview
The Meta Integration® Metadata Management (MIMM) Web Application Server
is based on a Meta Integration® Repository (MIR) database server,
and uses the Meta Integration® Model Bridge (MIMB) middleware.
Metadata Management (MM) has considerably evolved from its original Data Dictionary, Data Registry, Data Standardization and Metadata Repository roots.
Today, MM solutions are the critical component behind modern Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Data Governance (DG) initiatives.
Indeed MM is at the heart of Enterprise Information Managament (EIM) solutions, and in fact a key component of any Master Data Management (MDM) initiative.
Recently, Gartner has positioned Metadata Management in 4th position of its Top 10 Strategic Technologies for 2008

Metadata Versioning (MV)
The Metadata Versioning (MV) Solution is:
- an Add-on to MM/MIR for unlimited enterprise version and configuration management going beyond "just the current production version"
- for: historical configuration analysis of previous versions (Sarbanes-Oxley and BASEL II compliance), configuration planning and integration testing of future versions ("What If" scenarios, Impact of Change, Life-Cycle and Change Management), and enterprise level management of multiple distinct and/or complementary repository metadata configurations
- with: unlimited versioning and repository configurations
- includes: Version Manager, Configuration Version Manager, Version Migrator
Metadata Authoring (MA)
The Metadata Auhoring (MA) Solution is:
- an Add-on to MM/MIR for authoring metadata through Business Glossary (ISO-11179 metadata registry), or model editing
- for: data governance, data standardization, data dictionary, vocabulary, semantic, ontology definitions
- with: unlimited metadata extensions and methodologies
- includes: Business Glossary, Metadata Editor, Extensible Metadata Search Engine and Reporter"
