The File Menu

The file menu is composed of the following menu items:

Connect/Disconnect - connects or disconnects you from the server, after having disconnected you may then reconnect to another server or reconnect with another login.

You must supply the user name and password that was supplied to you by the administrator. The host field corresponds to the location of the repository server that you will be using for storing your models. The port is the TCP/IP port that is used for transmitting the messages between the Works client and the server.

Open - allows you to open a .mim file to browse in the Repository Manager. A .mim file is either created by the Repository Manager using Save or Save As or by using the tool Model Bridge, our Windows product.

Close - closes the window of the current active tool. Note that the Repository Manager window cannot be closed.

Reload - reloads the active model from either the server or from a file.

Save - saves the selected model to the local hard drive as a .mim file. This file can then be loaded at a later date or used in the Model Bridge product.

Save As - does the same thing as save but it allows you to save the file under a different name. If the active window is the Log Manager, the contents of log window is saved in the file.

Print - send a copy of the current window to the printer.

Change Group - allows you to change your current group to a group that is in the list of available groups. These groups have been assigned by the administrator. The following dialog box is displayed when you select this entry.

Select the group you want to belong to for this session in the list of available groups.

Exit - exits the tool.
