Menus

The View Menu

This menu allows you to change the look and feel of the tool as well as choose which windows you would like displayed.

Log Manager - will display the log manager window. The log window contains server/client communication information and tool specific information in separated tabs.

Global Attributes - will display the attribute window.

Local Attributes - will display or remove the attribute window in the right portion of the current model window or Repository Manager window.

Metadata Names - display the type of a given object as long as its name in the current tree. For example, it will display (Product)Movies for the product object named Movies.

Computed Names - Compute a name for objects which don't have one. This computed name, based on the name of the connected objects, is displayed in the current tree. For example, in the Movies model, it will display <pk_MOVIE> for the Primary Key of the Class MOVIE.

Refresh - this refreshes the window of the active tool.

Status bar - displays or does not display the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

Tool Bar - removes or not the tool bar from the visible area.

Tool Tabs - this removes or adds the tabs that are on the bottom of the screen, these tabs represent the current open windows. This does not apply to the tabs in the log manager window.

Never popup dialog on Message - display or do not display a separate window for information and warning messages.

Selecting the look and feel - allows you to select the look and feel for the MIW application.

  • Java Look and Feel - this is the platform independent Java look and feel (Metal).
