Format Management

If you click on a format you may do the following:

  • Open... - this will load the format contents (model, model mapping or file) from the server. If the format is a file format you will be asked to select the path of the file in which to save the file format locally. Otherwise the model or model mapping is displayed.
  • Set as - Original - this will make this format the original format of the version,
  • Set as - Default - this will make this format the default format of the version,
  • Cut - allows you to copy the format to the clipboard. The format is moved to a new location when a Paste is performed,
  • Copy - allows you to copy the format to the clipboard,
  • Paste - allows you to copy an object from the clipboard to the format. Currently, this entry is active only if the object in the clipboard is a model,
  • Paste Link - allows you to create a link between an object in the clipboard and the format,
  • Delete - deletes the format and all the sub objects attached to the format,
  • Rename - allows you to change the name of the format. This is available only for file formats, and
  • Permissions - allows you to change the access control list to this format.

If you click on a model format you may also do the following:

  • Import... - if the model format does not already contain a model, you can import one using a bridge,
  • Export... - export the model associated to this model format into the format of a specific design tool,
  • Compare... - start the Model Comparator using the selected model as the reference model.

If you click on a mapping format you may also do the following:

  • Automap models... - start the Model Comparator and then mapper using the source and destination models as the models to compare and the default stitching filter,
  • Compare models... - start the Model Comparator using the source and destination models as the models to compare,
  • Migrate mapping... - start the Migration Wizard to migrate another mapping format to this mapping.
