Generating Reports

Reports can be generated at any time while in the mapper by selecting the Report menu item from the mapper main menu.

The report dialog let you choose to generate information on attributes, keys, types or classes as well as on the mappings associated with them.

The report can be filtered to display only sources, only destinations or both elements of mappings.

You can specify which of the logical name or physical name must be used. If no physical name is specified, then the element's logical name will be displayed.

You can specify exactly what field of the report to be extracted depending on the type of the element.

Since the names of the reported objects are sometimes very long, the best way to view the generated report is by using a spreadsheet tool (Microsoft Excel for instance).
