General Terms & Conditions

Purchasing Process

Conditions to Resellers, Partners, and System Integrators

Our partners (software vendors and consulting companies) can resell MIMB to their customers in order to offer them a "one stop shopping" solution. In such case the PO must clearly identify the MIMB license owner (company name, address, web site, business contact, and potentially department/group/project for large company) and the license user (full name, e-mail, phone number, and MIMB's hostid). When purchased online, the entire web form must identify the actual license owner, only the credit card information relates to the reseller/buyer. Meta Integration does not have any official resellers inside or outside US, but welcomes any software vendor to resell the Meta Integration products without requiring a signed agreement (with the usual quotas and discounts to resellers). We do not offer discounts to resellers, but will however consider discounts based on volume.

In order to maintain a reasonable cost for each MIMB bridge, we do not allow software vendors and consulting companies to purchase MIMB for performing all the model conversion needs of their customers in house, or at their customer site (then requesting the license to be moved to another customer or another consultant for another customer). Instead, we require each actual customer to purchase its own copy of the MIMB software.

Support and Maintenance

One year of Support, Maintenance is automatically included with any new purchase. Annual Support & Maintenance can also be renewed for 20% of the current cost of your existing Meta Integration sofware configuration. For example, renewing support for MIMB with one import bridge and one export bridge is $2,000.00 per year (i.e. 20% of $10,000.00)

As with most software vendors today, the maintenance renewal's effective date is from the last maintenance renewal due date (not the maintenance renewal's actual purchase date). For example, you may have not realized your Meta Integration's annual support and maintenance was expired since March, and decide to renew it in September (often because a new version of a tool came out which is not supported by your older MIMB). In such case, your Meta Integration annual support and maintenance will only cover until March of the next year (instead of September).

Meta Integration's support and maintenance includes unlimited upgrades. Supporting more than 50 bridges requires us to keep up with all vendors' new products and new versions. We have quarterly major/minor releases, monthly minor/revision versions, and even sometimes weekly updates to synchronise with our partners.

Technical Support is provided preferably by e-mail to or phone at (650) 960-9000 between the hours of 9 A.M. and 6 P.M. PST from Monday to Friday. Meta Integration's reponse time is usually within one business day for at least a first level answer and possibly a workaround, immediate fix or timeframe for a fix.

Licensing Mechanism

The Meta Integration software is equipped with a license key mechanism. Each license key is attached to the "hostid" of the computer on which the Meta Integration software is installed. The "hostid" is generated by the Meta Integration"s License Key Install software based on unique properties of a given computer such as the drive id. When purchasing Meta Integration software, we need the "hostid" in order to generate your custom license key which grants the rights to all the Meta Integration software your purchased (e.g. specific bridges). Personal Editions are based on the "hostid" of the laptop or desktop of the user. Enterprise editions are based on the "hostid" of the server on which MIR, or MIR Web application servers are running. When buying MIMB software online, remember to provide your "hostid" in order to receive your "License Key" by e-mail. License Transfer

Re-installing Windows, reformatting a disk, or upgrading your computer will generate a new "hostid" and therefore will require us to issue you a new license key. Such request can be simply performed by an e-mail to our support based on the following template:
    To:
    Subject: license key update
    As we (explain reason such as "upgraded our hardware", "reformatted our disk", "reinstalled Windows", etc.), we are moving our MIMB license attached to host id: XXXXXXXX to the new host id: YYYYYYYY. We hereby certify that the MIMB software will be removed from host id XXXXXXXXX within a week of successfull install of the new license, and the associated license key has been deleted from all records. Could you please send us an updated license key for host id: YYYYYYYY.
