Description

The MIR SDK Architecture and Design

The Meta Integration Repository (MIR) is based on a Model Driven Architecture (MDA). The MIR metamodel is developed and maintained in UML using Rational Rose, from which the Meta Integration tools generate the code of the persistent and non-persistent repository, as well as Software Development Kit (SDK) for 4 technologies:
  • The MIR C++ SDK is used to develop and maintain the metadata movements (import/export) delivered as Meta Integration Model Bridge (MIMB).
  • The MIR Java SDK is used to develop the metadata toolset (e.g. metadata comparator, metadata browser, metadata mapper etc.) delivered as Meta Integration Works (MIW). The MIR Java SDK is also used to developed some of the bridges (like the database schema extract via JDBC) as Meta Integration Model Bridge (MIMB).
  • The MIR SQL SDK is used to develop the web enabled metadata search, browsing, and lineage analysis delivered as the open source Meta Integration Repository Web (MIRWeb). The MIR SQL SDK is also used by our customers and partners for metadata analysis and reporting from the MIR database using their existing BI/Reporting tools.
  • Finally, the MIR XML SDK is used by our customers and partners to import/export metadata with their repositories.
